Will you guys get a review unit for the new hotness (AKA the Bonavita coffee machines)? soon??? I hear they are just as good as the Technivorms. KMix is cool, but it would seem that function follows form on this one.

Hi. What’s your favorite 5? or so cup coffee maker?
Hello! A friend of mine was just given this as a house warming present, so I made a couple of lots of coffee with it, including some experimentation.
1. Removing the jug with it turned on does mean the? coffee has a brief amount of brewing time, before you have to put the jug in place to stop it overflowing, however, the rush of coffee when you replace the jug produces a pit in the filter, which need re-positioning before you can continue to brew. So overall this is a bad idea.
2. The second run through I just left it to do it’s thing. I checked it half way through to see if the coffee had pitted and it was actually looking pretty nice. The ground coffee was nicely saturated with water, so I think it was brewing nicely. Perhaps the thickness of the filters may be a good way to alter how much? brewing goes on with this machine. It’s a lovely size and looks good. We used slightly more coffee than recommended and were pleased with the strength of the cup.
@MrAlfa1600 I would personally do a shorter brew on the Technivorm – Kat?
@cpettifer? Cool!
