Can I file a lawsuit against my workplace for serving coffee, but not hot chocolate?

My workplace currently buys coffee, creamer, and sugar to the coffee drinkers at my work. They refuse to supply instant hot chocolate packets. I think this is a reasonable request. Can I file a lawsuit to get them to stop discriminating against the few hot cocoa drinkers here?

Yes, by all means. The court system needs more money. And your employer’s attorneys need ridiculous cases to train new hires on.
You can file all the lawsuits you want. But that one will get you laughed out of court.
Sure you can, but have other work lined up before you file such a frivolous case.
Because they won’t supply hot chocolate?
You could try, but you would lose.
Coffee is a luxury in the workplace, not a demand. There’s not law that states that a business MUST supply coffee, nonetheless hot chocolate.
Bring your own or prepare to lose the legal battle.
Is it part of your contract with them that they supply coffee? They make coffee as a favor for their workers. Buy your own hot chocolate.
Not if you wish to keep your job.
lol NO I DONT THINK SO.
if you want hot chocolate why dont you but some hot chocloate and take it to work and keep it at your desk
or request that they server hot chocolate
it would be nice if you could, but I don’t think you can because they technically don’t even have to supply the coffee.
No… that is what we call ridculous… a box of hot chocolate is like 3.00
Its guys like you that spoil a good thing.
I think all you will accomplish is getting the free coffee removed and then everyone will hate you.
Buy some hot chocolate packets. The next thing will be free
cokes and pepsi’s.
i sincerely hope you are joking
Why don’t you buy your own hot chocolate. They supply coffee as a courtesy. They are not obligated to do so. Is this the level of pettiness the world has come to.
No. The company is providing a free service to its employees and are under no obligation to furnish either.
QUIT! I heard some mighty big complaints against employers but not supply hot cocoa thats the worst. They are to be shot and dismembered for that discretion.
BOY you must have nothing to do if you are complaining about cocoa. GET A LIFE!!!!!
I would lay the case to your supervisor. just state you dont drink coffee, and youre feeling excluded because of it, they should supply equal refreshements for coffee and non-coffee drinkers.
Suing would be a complete waste of time and money. You’d be better off filing to the HR manager
worst case, buy your own and dont share!
Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves.
The new Declaration of Independence:
When in the course of human event it becomes necessary for one guy to want to spoil a good thing for all, and whine for hot chocolate. It being understood that chocolate is an inalienable right like life and liberty…….
LOL
OMG why dont you GET A LIFE!
If you are thinking about filing a lawsuit against your workplace because of this issue… you must be miserable at work. It might be time for you to go somewhere else.
A better idea is to start drinking tea: loose tea. Get a hot water pot, get a nice strainer. It takes a minimum of 10 minutes to make a cup of tea this way. You get 10 minutes of paid time, you don’t have to drink coffee, and they lose 10 minutes of productive time for each cup of tea you have in a day.
Once they see that they are paying for that time, they might be more open to your hot cocoa request.
A lawsuit would be foolish and costly.
Not to mention that whatever a company supplies is really a nicety, not a necessity. That’s why I suggest making a time-consuming cup of tea.
I think it is absolutely ridiculous how every is suing everyone now days. That is just as bad as suing MC D’s because you spilled hot coffee on yourself. They had to stop throwing candy during parades around here in fear of getting sued. GET A GRIP PEOPLE!
I don’t know… ask the lady that sued McDonald’s for the coffee being hot.
If you and some coworkers like to drink hot chocolate, maybe those of you that drink hot chocolate can take turns buying big boxes of the hot chocolate packets and only share them with each other.
Though you can file a lawsuit for anything you want, not everything is lawsuit material. Frivolous lawsuits waste the courts’ time and detract from those that are really serious and need attention.
No, you cannot file that lawsuit; it would be deemed a frivilous lawsuit and as such would be kicked out of the court room. Save the court’s valuable time for things that truly matter, not stupid stuff like this.
Nope! If there is a coffee service they should provide a hot chocolate mix, If not, make a request to the office manager. But you can’t sue your work place for not serving hot chocolate, If that was the case then they should suspend the health-care provider and purchase hot cocoa mix.
If it was possible I think someone would have done it already. you only get money if you burn yourself.Lol (remember the lady who sued Mc Donald’s for burning her crotch?)
Grow the hell up.Instead of adding yet another burden onto an already floundering justice system with a frivolous lawsuit, just go buy some freakin packets yourself. You have to be a leftist Democrat!!!!!
no
if the boss is not will to buy the hot chocolate for all or just one then that your problem, bring some to work with you and keep it for your self.
no law suit here
You sure can… and I bet that "man of the people" John Edwards would be right there in the frivolous lawsuit corner with you.
