Hey I also just started working in a coffee shop a few weeks ago at my church so I know your position!
You have frozen drinks, and you have hot drinks. With Frozen drinks such as smoothies and white chocolate mocha or mocha frapachinno and stuff like that you first get the cup the drink will be in and scoop it full of ice. Then put the ice into the blender. Now you will use the cup to make the coffee part. You will put the flavorings such as Mocha (chocolate) about 3 pumps. then you will add your shot of espresso. then you will pour half and half until the cup is half full. Then you MUST stir the liquids together. Then you pour the liquids into the blender that already has the correct amount of ice that you previously measured. Then you will blend everything together and pour into plastic clear cup and top with whip and add a straw:) That is the basics of cold drinks the only thing that varies is the flavorings. Im sorry if that was very choppy. ahahah
And then you have hot drinks. Im gonna teach you how to make a latte:) A latte consists of flavoring, milk, and espresso. first you add flavorings such as vanilla, hazelnut etc. Then you add your shot of espresso. Then you steam the milk. Once the milk is nice and hot and foamy start to pour the milk into the cup of flavoring and espresso holding back the foam with a spoon. When the cup is almost full you can scoop out some of the foam and put it on top. Oh and make sure you stir it very well!
So yeah that is pretty much the basics of gourmet coffee drinks. I hope that I helped you out for your new job!!! If you have any questions feel free to E-mail me:) Oh and sorry for the annoying repetition of the word "Then" hahaha GOODLUCK!
I mix Foldiers French vanilla and sprinkle coffe grinds on top
The flavoring of coffee is an ancient tradition dating back to nomadic Arab tribesmen who added a pinch of ground Green Cardamom (not Brown Cardamom) or other spice to coffee before brewing. You can experiment with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice etc (the fresher the spices the better) and flavourings like vanilla (pods not flavouring drops) or Liqueurs & Spirits like Amaretto etc. But remember, the idea is to add just enough to compliment the flavour of the coffee, not destroy it.
Heres Mexican Coffee:

¾ teaspoons cinnamon
4 teaspoons chocolate syrup
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup heavy cream
1 table spoon sugar
Combine cream, nutmeg, sugar and cinnamon then whip. Using four demitasse cups, put 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup in each. Stir the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon into the the hot gourmet coffee. Pour the coffee in the cups and stir. Top with spiced whipped cream. Makes 4 servings.
